A Highly Lucrative Industry With A Global Outreach
The Halal industry is a promising multi-trillion dollar industry with an exponential rate of growth driven by the increasing demand from Muslim and non-Muslim population. In 2017 alone, it was estimated that over 1.8 billion Muslims around the world spent around USD2.1 trillion dollars on Islamic-compliant products and services for consumption. (Source: The State of the Global Islamic Economy Report 2018/19).
Among the Islamic nations, Malaysia, due to its well-established standard and certification, is widely recognized as the Halal hub of the world, producing shariah-compliant goods and services well beyond the traditional F&B line that include sectors such as finance, tourism, logistics, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical. Importers of Malaysian Halal products include China, Singapore, Japan, Indonesia, UAE, Brazil, Australia and the United States.
With this huge potential presenting itself, it is ideal for Malaysian companies to take advantage of this emerging market by searching for ways to sell their products in the Halal Industry or carve a comfortable niche to position themselves in as early as possible.
Effective from 2019 onwards, the Malaysian government requires that all companies wishing to apply or renew their Halal certificates MUST HAVE a Halal Executive Certificate obtained from JAKIM Certified Training Providers. (Source: Malaysian Halal Management System, Clause 5.3(a), pg.10)
Realising the needs of companies having to engage or source for a dedicated Halal executive who is theoretically sound and technically competent to help the organization comply with the new Malaysian Halal Standard, Crescendo International College has teamed up with Halal Informatics (HOLISTICS) Lab Sdn Bhd - an award winning R&D and Halal technology provider - to deliver the following Halal Training programmes.
